LAMH, Liège, Belgium

The Laboratory of Human Motion Analysis (LAMH), University of Liège, is a 3D Laboratory researching human motion in a range of applications.

 

 

The understanding and tracking of human motion has been a subject of interest in the scientific community for more than one century. The long history of human motion analysis comes from the large scope of applications of such measurement that can be found in medicine, biomechanics, sport, ergonomics, and even civil engineering. 
 
More recently, those technologies have also been widely exploited for the development of animation movies and games. Needless to say, the techniques used one century ago significantly differ from those used today.
 
The LAMH, which is the motion analysis laboratory at the University of Liège, shows how such a platform could be the center of a multidisciplinary research and provide valuable information to various communities.
 

Research Areas

Area of interest are diverse and rich such as:

  • Ambulatory sensors for the analysis of pathological human gait
  • Gait Analysis and Brain Imagery to predict (cognitive and) functional decline in older adults
  1. Sport sciences
  • Injury prevention: shoulder stiffness in high-level athlete populations
  • Performance in tennis serve
  • Biomechanics of running economy
  • Explosive strength activities for lower limb
  1. Engineering
  • Experimental study about the effects of human excitation of flexible structures
  • Modelization of the normal and pathological gait
  • Improving 3D measurements accuracy with camera information redundancy
  1. Veterinary Medicine
  • Effect of nutraceuticals in vivo in dogs suffering from osteoarthritis
