Neuroscience Solution - Standard Optimised Lab

A fully-equipped Neuroscience Lab may have from two to eight CODA units, depending on the required measurement area and the type of movement to be tracked.

Measurement in a central area of about 5 m x 5m is most common, requiring two CODA units placed 3-4m from each side, but many laboratories use 4 or even up to 8 CODA units to extend the measurement area and also to get better visibility of complex movements where twisting motions are to be captured. Additional units allow for good visibility when the subject twists and turns during the movement, and arms or turned legs can obscure some markers from some of the sensor units.  

Laboratories will commonly have one or two force plates mounted in the floor and - in some cases - an integrated EMG system, or even eye-trackers.  All data from these third-party devices are synchronised and integrated using the ODIN software suite.  Scripts can be configured to produce customised calculations and displays of kinetic and kinematic data, and these can be output to a controlled report template when required. 

Those users who are interested in intergrating 3D motion data into their own real time applications may prefer the Software Development Kit (SDK) in order to develop their own control systems.
