Codamotion is pleased to support the 25th Anniversary of the Society for Neural Control in Movement (NCM).
This year's conference has provided an invaluable forum, bringing together many different disciplines from the world of neuroscience.
The subject matter has ranged from developing procedures to investigate and unlock the brain's ability to adapt to age related diseases and traumatic events including stroke, 3D modelling of the neural connection pathways of the human brain and even kinematic analysis of the humble fly!
The take away from the conference for me is that while research is clearly advancing our understanding of the brain and motor control, many questions remain unanswered and many dots between the individual research areas need joining. Moreover, there is a sense of increasing urgency from the major research funding bodies to obtain efficacy from dollars spent in terms of delivering real world healthcare solutions. The NCM gathering has therefore been even more critical as a forum for sharing collective knowledge on this very complex topic.
Neuro-researchers are clearly pushing the boundaries and capabilities of measurement technology, and Codamotion is proud to support this work through ODIN, our software platform for seamlessly recording, synchronising and processing multiple data sources including 3D marker data, accelerometers, haptic systems, video, force, EMG and ECG.
